Tayammum

Hadith Number 109

From 'Ammar ibn Yasir (r.a), he said: “The Prophet (s.a.w) ordered me for a need, while I was in cloak and I did not find water. Finally I rolled on the sand like a cattle roll, then I came to the Prophet (s.a.w) and told him about it. Hearing that, the king said: "Indeed it is enough for you just to do this with the palms of your hands." Then he struck his palms on the ground with one stroke, then he rubbed his left hand over his right hand and the outer parts of his palms and his face." (Muttafaq alaih. Lafaz this hadith according to the hadith narrated by Imam Muslim)

In another narration narrated by al-Bukhari it is stated: “Then the Prophet (s.a.w) struck his palms on the ground and blew them both. Then both of them are rubbed on the face and the palms of the hands.”

From Ibn 'Umar (r.a), he said: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: “Tayammum is two strokes; one stroke to wipe the face and another stroke to wipe the hands up to the elbows.” (Reported by al-Daraquthni and the scholars considered it a mawquf hadith)

Hadith Number 112

From Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (r.a), he said: “Two men came out (from the city of Medina) to make a journey. So the time for prayer came, while both of them did not bring water, so they performed tayammum with pure dust, and then prayed. After that they found water and the prayer time was not over yet. So one of them repeats his prayer with ablution, while the other does not repeat (his prayer). Then they came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), and told him what they had done. Hearing that, the Prophet (s.a.w) said to people who did not repeat his prayer: "You have done the Sunnah and your prayer is sufficient." While to the other king said: "You will get the reward twice." (Narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i)

Hadith Number 113

Dar Ibn Abbas (r.a) regarding the meaning of His words: “And if you are sick or are on a journey.” (Surah al-Nisa': 43). Ibn Abbas (r.a) said: "If a man is injured while fighting in the cause of Allah and becomes infected, and then he becomes cloaked and fears death while bathing (junub), then he may perform tayammum." (Narrated by al-Daraquthni mawquf, but this hadith is considered marfu‟ by al-Bazzar. Ibn Khuzaimah and al-Hakim consider it valid)

Hadith Number  114

Alih-alih 'Ali (r.a), beliau berkata: “Salah satu lenganku patah tulang, lalu aku bertanya kepada Rasulullah (s.a.w), maka baginda memerintahkan pujian untuk mengusap air mani sahaja.”

From Jabir bin Abdullah (ra) narrates the story of a man who was seriously injured, then he took a bath until he finally died as a result of his actions: "Indeed it is sufficient for him only to do tayammum and bandage the wound with a bandage, then wipe it and bathe the injured member. another body." (Narrated by Abu Dawud with a sanad in which there is an element of dha'if. This hadith still has differences)

From Ibn 'Abbas (r.a), he said: "Among the Sunnah practices that a person should not pray with tayammum except one prayer only, then he performs tayammum again for other prayers." (Narrated by al-Daraquthni with a very weak sanad)
